Citalopram HBr is ramification of Phthalane, a new antidepressant, which has most opposite-selectivity to inhibiting resorption for 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) in congener drugs. Citalopram HBr can inhibit resorption of 5-HT effectively, and is slight to resorption of dopamine and noradrenalin, and is weak or almost none to appetency of alkali-toadstool, histamine and 5-HT acceptor. The drug is all resultful for en-dogenesis and non-endogenesis suffer, and also does not affect heart-conduction system and blood pressure, does not damage surfers' cognizing function and psychomotor, does not enhance inhibiting function resulting from ethanol.
